Jenny qualified from Liverpool in 1985 and then went immediately to the United States to undertake an internship at the University of Pennsylvania and then a Surgical Residency at Ohio State University. Afterwards she stayed on at Ohio to undertake a clinical research post.

Jenny returned to the UK to work at a private equine hospital where she had primary responsibility for the surgical caseload in addition to doing first opinion work. During this time Jenny travelled extensively to three-day events including the Atlanta Olympics as a private veterinarian and was involved with racehorses transported worldwide.

In 1996 Jenny Set up her own specialist equine practice, which grew into Hall and Lawrence and became Lambourn Equine Vets LLP in 2009. Jenny was Team Veterinarian to the British Three Day Event Team from 1999 - 2009.

She was the Veterinary Services manager for the 2012 Olympics and is now the Chief Veterinary Officer for the SHA. Subsequent to her appointment as chief veterinary officer she stepped down from her role within the partnership but still works in association with the practice and provides support where required.
