Using objective gait analysis to make evidence-based clinical decisions with confidence.
Led by Professor Andy Fiske-Jackson and a select team of experts, you’ll learn with the best-of-the-best in VetPD’s signature interactive format.
______________________________________
Objective gait analysis is transforming how equine clinicians assess lameness, monitor performance, and guide rehabilitation strategies. This series provides a comprehensive introduction to the different technologies, interpretation, and real-world application of systems such as Sleip, Equinosis Q/Lameness Locator, EquiMoves, Consteed and many more...
The carefully curated sessions will benefit a wide audience – from equine practitioners new to gait analysis, maybe currently considering which system to purchase, to those looking to critically evaluate and refine their use of these invaluable tools.
The Program
This three-part online series has been designed to give you a solid understanding of objective gait analysis and its role in modern equine practice:
Foundations & Frameworks
Explore the principles behind objective gait analysis, from inertial sensors, force plates, motion capture to AI-based, and compare the leading systems to understand how they work and where they fit into practice.
Systems in Practice – Side-by-Side Comparison
Learn how to confidently apply objective gait analysis in real-world settings including interpreting the data, responses to diagnostic anaesthesia, and recognising normal variations or conflicting results.
Clinical Applications & Future Directions
Go beyond lameness diagnosis to see how objective data supports pre-purchase examinations, performance monitoring, fitness-to-compete decisions, and rehabilitation. Ethical challenges like subclinical asymmetries, over-reliance on numbers, and managing client expectations will be discussed and debated.
A Unique Interactive Format
Each module is designed in VetPD’s signature format to transform your clinical practice and gain actionable skills:
- ✔ Two to three leading specialists with complimentary experience, acting as both speaker & discussant
- ✔ The latest evidence-based information, followed by discussion of real cases
- ✔ Friendly & dynamic environment where speakers explore the topic honestly, not shying away from discussing mistakes as well as successes, or debating grey-zone and controversial subjects
- ✔ Together with the audience, the experts will discuss and debate recent advances and the most up-to-date clinical approaches, as well as sharing their real-world experiences.
