Zoltan Bakos graduated from the University of Veterinary Science, Budapest, Hungary in 1994. He performed an internship at the Equine University Hospital in Budapest, which was followed by several years of working as a clinician there, and later he became a Lecturer in Equine Medicine. During this time, he completed his PhD with summa cum laude in 2004 in the field of echocardiography and thoracic ultrasonography in horses. Zoltan then moved to the United Kingdom in 2005 where he worked in private practice. In 2008, he was appointed as Senior Lecturer in Equine Internal Medicine at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. He returned to the United Kingdom and joined the team at the Rainbow Equine Hospital in 2011 where he is Head of the Internal Medicine Section. He passed the diploma examination of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine in 2012. Zoltan has a particular interest in cardiology, as well as in thoracic and abdominal ultrasonography.
