Zita Makra

Zita Makra graduated from the Veterinary University, Budapest, Hungary in 1995. In 1996 she completed her clinical training in equine clinical sciences at the Equine Clinic of the University as a trainee. Upon some years of maternity leave she returned to the faculty of her alma mater, where she is currently an assistant lecturer. Her PhD project was about penetrating keratoplasty in horses. She took part in several equine ophthalmology courses in Europe and US. Her research and clinical interests are focused upon corneal and standing surgeries in horses. Dr Makra has been invited to talk in continuing education seminars, national meetings and world congresses for general practitioners and eye specialists including WEVA, IEOC, HAEP. She is a past president of HAEP and is currently the secretary of it.
