Wiebke qualified from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation, Germany in 2009 and subsequent wrote a doctoral thesis on “Athletic performance and conformation in Hanoverian warmblood horses - population genetic and genome-wide association analyses” at the Institute for Animal Breeding, which she finished in 2010. Following this, Wiebke went to do an internship at the Equine Health Center, Bilsen. In March 2011 she started working at the Department for Orthopedics and Surgery of the equine hospital of the Freie Universität Berlin, where she specialised as a Fachtierarzt for Horses in 2014. During Wiebke’s time in Berlin she developed her special interest in equine dentistry and surgical dental extraction and established the department for Equine Dentistry at the equine hospital. During that time she did research on the radiographic prevalence of EOTRH. In 2015 Wiebke became a proofed dentist by the Internationale Gesellschaft zur Funktionsverbesserung der Pferdezähne (IGFP). Since May 2015 she has worked at the Tierärztliche Klinik Isernhagen as a specialist for equine dentistry and orthopedics. Wiebke has published several clinical and research articles in peer-reviewed veterinary journals and lectures regularly at national courses and conferences on equine dentistry.
