Dr. Thorben Schulze graduated in 2002 from the University of Hanover, Germany. His thesis discussed the comparison of MR and CT images of the suspensory ligament in the equine hind limb. From 2003 to 2011 he was a member of the veterinary team at the Equine Clinic Burg Mueggenhausen GmbH. In his daily work he was doing lameness cases, orthopedic surgeries and diagnostic imaging. From 2004 Dr. Schulze was responsible for running the Hallmarq equine MR scanner and since 2006 he has offered a consultation service in equine MRI and CT to several clinics in Europe. In summer 2011 he started to work freelance in that field and did this in parallel with working at the Freie Universität Berlin where he had responsibility for the diagnostic imaging department. Dr. Schulze started the large animal track residency of the ECVDI and his field of research is focussed on equine orthopedic MRI and CT.
