Susanne graduated from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural School in Copenhagen in 1983.
She has worked in general practice since then. For the first 4 years she mainly worked with large animals and later switched to companion animals. Since 1998, Susanne has had a growing interest in ophthalmology and has participated in numerous ophthalmology courses around the world. She has twice visited the Ophthalmology Service at North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Susanne currently works at Ringe Veterinary Hospital in Denmark working mostly with ophthalmology referrals, both companion animals and horses. In 2004 she became a member of the Danish Eye Panel (Øjenpaneldyrlæge). Susanne has been a board member of the Danish Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology since 2000 and chairman of the Society since 2008.
