Sarah graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Germany, and performed her doctoral thesis on retinal degenerative diseases at RWTH Aachen and the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover. After working in a private veterinary clinic, she joined Leipzig University’s Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) unit led by Prof. Oechtering within the Small Animal Department at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. She earned the German titles of "Veterinarian for Small Animals" (Fachtierarzt für Kleintiere) and an additional German specialization in Ear, Nose, and Throat diseases in dogs and cats. After six years and being senior clinician in the ENT unit at Leipzig University, Germany, she pursued a residency in internal medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, becoming a Diplomate of the European College in 2025. Following her residency, she took up a position as a specialist in internal medicine at Ghent University in Belgium. In 2024, she initiated the foundation of a working group for veterinarians interested in ENT diseases within the DVG (Deutsche Veterinärmedizinische Gesellschaft) in Germany.
Sarah has published several clinical articles in peer-reviewed veterinary journals and has lectures at national and international conferences with special interest in Respiratory and Ear, Nose, and Throat diseases in dogs and cats.
