Dr Ross Elliott qualified from Onderstepoort in as a veterinarian 2005. He worked in private practice at the Bryanston Veterinary Hospital where he earned his MMedvet in small animal surgery in 2011 under Drs Bruce and Greg Irvine-Smith. This allowed Ross to register as a surgical specialist with the South African Veterinary Council. He continued to work as a senior specialist in private practice until 2020, when he returned to Onderstepoort to take up the position of senior lecturer of small animal surgery in the companion animal clinical studies department and start a residency for the European college of veterinary surgeons. He has completed the residency in 2023 and is awaiting final credentials evaluation to write the exam in 2024.
