Mayank qualified in 2004 and spent 2 years in first opinion practice before pursuing further training. He undertook a Fellowship in Hematology and Hemostasis an an Internal Medicine Residency at The University of Pennsylvania before returning to the UK. Mayank has worked in a variety of clinics, including the renowned Animal Health Trust, where he was Head of Internal Medicine and Clinical Director, as well as a number of private Specialist hospitals. He is currently a founding partner and the Clinical Director of Stansted Veterinary Specialists, a new independent referral clinic.

Mayank has a strong interest in hematology, particularly immunohematology. He has previously overseen a large veterinary blood bank, has conducted and published many studies in the field, regularly speaks on the subject nationally and internationally and has contributed to international guidelines on transfusion medicine. He has a dog called Steve.
