Marcos graduated from Cordoba University, Spain in 1999. After graduation he completed an Equine internship at Chino Valley Equine Hospital, California, USA followed by a Large Animal Surgery Internship at the Atlantic Veterinary College, PEI, Canada. Then, he went on to perform an ABVP (equine) residency followed by a Large Animal Surgery Residency at the Atlantic Veterinary College. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinarian Practitioners in 2009 and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2013. Following his residencies he worked as an equine surgeon in private practice in Alberta, Canada from 2011 to 2014. Then, he accepted an equine surgery position at Sharjah Equine Hospital, where he is currently working with a focus on sport medicine and general surgery.
