Ky is General Counsel and Director of Operations for Inova. In a word, Ky is a navigator. With a background in business and law, combined with nearly two decades of experience in the equine and veterinary industries he provides strategy and guidance to Inova clients. Ky works with Boards, leadership teams and practice stakeholders to help them achieve their business and lifestyle goals.
His experience provides two enormous benefits for our clients: a thorough and detailed knowledge of the equine veterinary industry and authentic and powerful solutions to crafting a strategy for growth. Clients can expect and will receive a high level of individualized attention and timely responses to emerging issues.
Ky began his career in the equine industry working on a Kentucky Thoroughbred farm. After a one year internship with Breeders’ Cup, he spent five years with the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) as their Director of Industry Relations, handling sponsorship, organizing public policy positions and providing oversight to the AAEP Foundation.
He spent eight years as Director of Client Relations & Advancement for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital & Equine Health Studies Program with the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge, LA. During this time he helped spearhead the emergency response for the rescue of hundreds of horses and companion animals during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which he chronicled in the book “Horses of the Storm”.
Ky holds a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science from Colorado State University, an MBA from the E.J. Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University, and a law degree from Southern University Law Center. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
