Dr. José Carlos Estepa, graduated from the University of Cordoba, Spain, in 1992. He performed a course of specialization in Genetics and Animal Reproduction (1995), and a Master in Equine sciences (1996) at the University of Cordoba. He finished his PhD in 2001 and performed professional stays at the New Bolton Center (University of Pennsylvania) and The Royal Veterinary College (University of London). Diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine (Dip ECEIM) in 2004. José Carlos has entered several European Exchange Programs for University Teachers (Italia, Rumanía, Eslovaquia, República Checa). He has been Director of Residency programs of the ECEIM at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Cordoba. He has also been (Co)Author of numerous international articles and book chapters, and speaker in congresses and courses about veterinary Medicine in Spain, Italy, Chile and Portugal.

José Carlos has worked at the Department of Animal Medicine and Surgery of the University of Cordoba since 1998. Nowadays he is Professor in that Department, teaching Internal Medicine and Equine Ultrasonography as main subjects. He is Director of the Equine Internship Program and Director of the Large Animal Area of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Cordoba. He is member of the Exam Committee of the ECEIM since 2017.
