Jiri graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine, Brno in 1985 and went on to work at the State Veterinary Hospital in the Department for Reproduction and Obstetrics until 1989. Since 1991 he has worked as a private veterinary surgeon at two veterinary clinics in Pardubice, specialising in ophthalmology. Jiri is President of the European Society of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ESVO) and sits on the editoral board of the e-Polish Journal of Veterinary Ophthalmology. He completed his PhD in 2012 and has delivered presentations at a number of national and international meetings/congresses.
