Prior to entering the field of veterinary medicine, Dr. Jaret Pullen spent nearly two decades building a successful farrier business throughout the Northeast. His ever-growing interest in therapeutic farriery drove him to pursue further training in the study and management of the equine hoof. Dr. Pullen received his received his D.V.M. degree from Cornell University, and currently travels between the Northeast and Texas managing a diverse caseload of horses of various breeds and disciplines. Dr. Pullen focuses exclusively on the treatment of lameness and diseases associated with the foot, often in collaboration with his mentors Drs. Ric Redden and Sammy Pittman. He specializes in treating complex foot issues such as laminitis, podotrochlosis (navicular disease), white line disease, soft tissue injuries, septic pedal osteitis, angular limb deformities and variety of other conditions.
Dr. Pullen’s dedication to the area therapeutic farriery is demonstrated through his work as a lecturer at numerous podiatry seminars and continuing education events, both within the U.S and internationally. He currently sits on the board of directors for the Northeast Association of Equine Practitioners, and is actively involved with Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine's new podiatry initiative.
