After studying dentistry at ACTA in Amsterdam (graduated 1998), Dr. Booij-Vrieling studied veterinary medicine in Utrecht (graduated 2004). She subsequently obtained her PhD (2010) for research into tooth resorption in cats. In 2018, she obtained the title "specialist in veterinary dentistry" and is a "Diplomate of the European Veterinary Dental College", the first in the Netherlands.
Within the university clinic Dr. Booij-Vrieling is involved in all dental treatments, mainly dogs and cats, but she also sees ferrets regularly. Dr. Booij-Vrieling also works as a dentist, which means she is aware of the latest human insights and can apply them to the treatments of veterinary patients.
