Bruce is a 1994 graduate of the University of Missouri – College of Veterinary Medicine.  He and his wife, Gayla Whittle, DVM, (MU-1994) opened Honey Creek Veterinary Hospital in Trenton, Missouri in May of 1994.  He covers the large animal species in the practice, mostly in an ambulatory capacity.  Bruce has a passion for equine dentistry and has been fortunate to have the opportunity to teach weekend dentistry seminars at various colleges of veterinary medicine through the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) since 2009.  He has been performing small animal dentistry services at the practice since 2010.  He is a past president of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association and is currently chair of the association’s Equine Committee.   Through this position he developed an equine dentistry seminar and wet lab for veterinarians in Missouri that has been held 9 times since 2008.  He has also been active legislatively on behalf of the MVMA and the AAEP in scope of practice issues including equine dentistry and is currently chair of the AAEP Welfare and Public Policy Advisory Council and chairs its State Legislative Issues Subcommittee.
