Athin graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2011. He worked in first opinion practice in Cyprus for a year, before moving on, to do externships in Exotic Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Veterinary Faculties of the University of Utrecht, Netherlands, and the University of Vienna, Austria. He has also worked at a State Veterinary Officer in Cyprus, dealing with herd and flock health, as well as with animal pathology. In 2015 he gained a Masters degree in Wildlife and Conservation Medicine, by the Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh. In 2016 he completed an internship in Wildlife Medicine and Surgery at RSPCA Stapeley Grange  Wildlife Center in Nantwich, which is one of the biggest and busiest Wildlife Hospitals in the UK. In 2017 he started a Rotating Internship at Rutland House Referrals. Upon the completion of his internship in June 2018, he continued working at Rutland House Referrals as an Exotics Registrar. Athin thoroughly enjoys all aspects of Zoological Medicine, particularly Avian Medicine and Wildlife Diseases. He also has a fond interest in teaching. During the years 2015 & 2016, he was employed by the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies as a peer-tutor, where he taught Study  Skills, to students of different online Master programs within the school. He is currently working towards both the Certificate in Advance Veterinary Practice in Zoological Medicine (CertAVP ZooMed) by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RVCS), and the post-graduate certificate in Veterinary Education (PGCert VetEd) by the Royal Veterinary College of University of London. In his free time, Athin enjoys travelling with friends, cooking, playing board games and watching  movies.
