Jonathan Anderson is a director and surgeon at the Rainbow Equine Hospital. He is a Royal Veterinary College Equine Surgical Specialist, a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and an FEI Veterinary Delegate.

Jonathan graduated from the Edinburgh’s Royal School of Veterinary Studies in 2000, completed an internship year at the San Luis Rey Equine Hospital in California, before moving to the Rainbow Equine Hospital in the UK for 3 years. He went back Stateside to undergo a large animal clinical fellowship at Oregon State Veterinary Teaching Hospital followed by an Equine Surgical Residency at the University of California, Davis. He achieved diplomate status in 2009, remained as a clinical instructor at UC Davis for a year before moving back to the Rainbow Equine Hospital at the end of 2009 to join the surgical team. He has been involved in advancing the use of CT both as diagnostic and intra-operative imaging modality within the equine veterinary field. His main veterinary interests include all things orthopaedic which includes the evaluation, advanced imaging and surgical treatment of horses with cervical stenosis. He is keen to see a sharing of knowledge and equipping of equine vets to recognise and treat horses with this condition.

His biggest asset is his long suffering wife Naomi and he kind of helps to manage a brood of 5 kids which means little time for any other activities although a run in the mountains every so often is where he likes to recharge his batteries once again!

José obtained his Veterinary Medical Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996 and went on to complete a 1-year Equine Internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center, New Jersey followed by a 3-year Large Animal Surgical Residency with special focus on Equine Sports Medicine at Tufts University in Massachusetts.  He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2001.  Following his residency, José obtained a Lecturer position in the Section of Equine Sports Medicine and Imaging at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center where he remained for 2 years.  In 2002, he returned to Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine as an Assistant Professor in Large Animal Surgery and in 2010, he was promoted to Associate Professor.  José has continued to concentrate his work in the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal disorders as well as the use of advanced imaging in the equine athlete.  In 2010, he became a faculty member of AO VET North America.  He also became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2013.  Jose is now an Associate Professor of Large Animal Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. His career reflects a commitment to advancing veterinary care through education, collaboration, and innovation.

After graduation from the University of Cambridge in 2001, Fran spent 7 years working in the USA at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center undertaking a surgical internship and residency prior to becoming a lecturer in Equine Sports Medicine. Since returning to the UK, Fran has worked in private Equine referral practice and has been based in Newmarket since 2016. Fran is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (since 2007), a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (since 2009), an RCVS specialist in Equine Surgery (since 2010) and became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2016. Fran has special interests in equine orthopaedics and lameness and causes of poor performance in equine athletes

Omar graduated Veterinary School in Rabat, Morocco (Institut Agronomic et Veterinaire Hassan II). After an internship at the Veterinary school of Lyon, France, he went on to complete a second internship at the Rochester Equine Clinic, at which he stayed a second year as a junior clinician. Omar undertook his Equine Surgery residency at the University of California, Davis. He Joined the New England Medical and Surgical Center in Dover, New Hamphire as surgeon, lameness diagnostician and was instrumental in creating and developing their advanced imaging program(including CE CT, MRI and Nuclear scintigraphy). Omar became Board Certified in Equine Surgery in 2009 (ACVS), and Board Certified in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2012 (ACVSMR). He is an FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale) accredited veterinarian and served in that function at multiple nations cups. He was also the staff surgeon for the Pan-American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2011. Recently, Omar founded Atlantic Equine Services, a practice focusing on sports medicine through out the North East United states and Florida. He has published several clinical articles in peer-reviewed veterinary journals and lectures regularly at national and international courses/conferences on equine lameness and imaging.
