Sarah Puchalski is a native of Roberts Creek, British Columbia, Canada, and grew up riding horses in the BC countryside, competing actively in 3-day eventing.  She obtained a B.S. in Biology from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC and went to veterinary school in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where she graduated with distinction in 1999.  From Saskatoon, she moved to Pennsylvania as an intern/resident in field service sports medicine at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center from 1999-2001.  From New Bolton Center, Dr. Puchalski entered a four-year residency in diagnostic imaging at the University of California, Davis.  She obtained board certification in the American College of Veterinary Radiology in 2004, passing the grueling examination on her first attempt. 

In 2005, Dr. Puchalski joined the faculty in diagnostic imaging in the Department of Surgical and Radiological Sciences, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, as an Assistant Professor.  During this time, she divided her focus between didactic and clinical teaching, research, service to the school and clinical radiology.  In the classroom, she led the general large animal radiology course and was a co-instructor in the equine lameness and radiology course.  Her research interests predominantly surround the use of novel imaging techniques for the diagnosis of lameness conditions in equine athletes.   As she has gained experience in this field, she has developed an international reputation for her expertise.  Dr. Puchalski was awarded tenure at the University in 2012 and promoted to Associate Professor, and has authored scientific, educational and lay articles as well as contributed to numerous textbooks. 

Dr. Puchalski left the University in late 2013 to open her own practice as a diagnostic imaging consultant.  In the winter months she is based in Wellington, Florida at Palm Beach Equine Clinic and during the remainder of the year in Petaluma, California at Circle Oak Equine.  As a show jumper, competing actively in Wellington, Florida at the Winter Equestrian Festival and in Northern California, she understands the challenges of equine ownership and what may be needed to keep these athletes sound.

A 1989 graduate of U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Miller moved East where he completed his clinical internship and worked as an Associate Veterinarian at Delaware Equine Center in Cochranville, Pennsylvania. In 1997, he started his own practice, developing an extensive performance horse clientele throughout the country.

A resident of Katonah, New York, Dr. Miller services our clients from the New York office year round and has an established clientele in the area. He spends the winter months in Florida, to provide services to his clients at the Winter Equestrian Festival.

Additionally, he has accompanied the United States Equestrian Show Jumping Team at horse shows throughout Europe and Scandinavia and is an accredited F.E.I. veterinarian.

Born 1956 in Leverkusen, Dr. Jahn graduated in Veterinary Medicine in Hannover in 1982. Two years later he finished his dissertation “surfactant analysis in bronchial secretion of healthy horses and horses with chronic disease of the airway” at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hannover. After a few years as an assistant clinician in several veterinary hospitals – for example equine hospital in Telgte and equine hospital at the racing track Gelsenkirchen (Dr. Tilkorn) – Werner moved to Wahlstedt where he was working for 6 years. During that period of time he became a certified specialist in horses.

In 1993 the Bargteheide Equine Hospital was found by Dr. Werner Jahn. His main professional interests are surgery, orthopedics and the medical attendance of sport horses. Werner has been invited speaker in several national and international congresses and courses.

He is a member of the German x-ray committee and a consulter for several working groups of the association for equine medicine.

Kurt Selberg is a North Idaho native; where his family owned a quarter horse ranch. After completing his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Washington State University, he completed an equine sports medicine internship at Virginia Equine Imaging in Middleburg, VA. He received his training in diagnostic imaging from Colorado State University and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiologists. Following his residency he completed fellowship in advanced imaging with training from Colorado State University and from Musculoskeletal Radiologists in Fort Collins, CO. He was an Assistant Professor of equine diagnostic imaging at the University of Georgia for 4 years before returning to an equine diagnostic imaging position at Colorado State University in September of 2016. His area of interest is the equine athlete and musculoskeletal diagnostic imaging. Dr. Selberg is a certified member and lecturer at many of the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology continuing education events. He is also an FEI treating veterinarian. Most recently, he was the on site imaging consultant for the 2018 World Equestrian Games. Aside from radiology, he also enjoys skiing , jiu jitsu, fishing, spending time with good friends and family, his lovely wife Katie and 2 children, and two yellow dogs.
