PANEL DISCUSSION DESCRIPTION
In this first-of-its-kind interactive virtual event with industry experts driven by a recently published study on owners' trust in their veterinarian, learn what and why excellent communication skills are vital to your success in veterinary practice. Taking a fresh approach, develop your verbal and non-verbal communication skills to allow your career to thrive. You will discover why the way you communicate is critical to how well your clients trust you and evolve strategies for active listening and precise information transmission relevant to the veterinary consultation.
Suitable for veterinarians and veterinary nurses / technicians alike, in both equine and small animal practice, join Luisa and Louisa, two past television broadcasters who are now communication coaches and Dr. David Rutherford, who is currently researching trustworthiness and emotional intelligence within the veterinary profession.
During her 12 years at the BBC, Luisa became a recognised TV correspondent covering major stories from the Amanda Knox trials in Italy and Papal events at the Vatican City to the 7/7 bombings in London. In her latter years at the BBC, Luisa was Deputy Royal Correspondent, covering the period of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and The Duchess of Cambridge’s first solo Royal engagements, to the birth of Prince George.
Luisa moved to New York for three years with her family in 2014 where as well as setting up Composure Media she started working as a coach for Vermilion Talent, a women’s career re-entry organisation for whom she still does remote coaching from the UK.
Luisa has also contributed as a coach to Cambridge Judge Business School’s Accelerate and Ignite entrepreneurial programmes. Before working at the BBC, Luisa worked at ITN for ITV and Channel 5 News and Euronews in Lyon, France. She has facilitated international corporate events as a presenter/host/moderator for Nissan, Sage, Cannon, Nortel, Cisco, Honeywell, Market Gravity, Barclays Capital and the British Council.
She brings an international dynamic to proceedings, due to her varied background living in Africa, Europe and the US and being of dual Italian/British nationality.
Louisa has been a recognisable face on British TV screens for nearly 20 years and continues to appear on BBC News as a freelance presenter/reporter.
She’s had the privilege of being part of the presenting team on BBC1 for major national events, including the 2017 General Election, London 2012 Olympics and Royal Wedding in 2011.
Louisa joined the BBC after working for ITN’s ITV and Channel 5 News, where she became the youngest national newsreader aged 22.
Alongside her work at the BBC, Louisa has always taken on projects in the corporate sector where her experience includes facilitating a number of large scale industry events including conferences, award ceremonies and Q&A sessions with CEOs and high-profile public figures.
In launching Composure Media with Luisa Baldini, Louisa wanted to couple this corporate experience and her extensive broadcasting abilities to help others become confident communicators.
Louisa brings personality, warmth and humour to proceedings. She studied Law, Politics and Journalism at University.
