Dr. Goodrich is a Professor of Orthopedics in the Department of Clinical Sciences. Her laboratory studies new approaches to bone and joint healing in equine athletes, and employs both gene therapy and stem cell therapy. Ongoing studies include using adeno-associated viral vectors to deliver growth factors and anti-inflammatory molecules important in cartilage and bone healing. Dr. Goodrich has utilized mesenchymal stem cells and platelet rich plasma to improve cartilage repair. Further studies utilizing gene therapy combined with stem cell therapies to improve musculoskeletal repair are currently underway.

Dr. Laura Stokes-Greene grew up riding horses in Bedford, New York, where she developed an early understanding of the biomechanics, athleticism, and fragility of the equine body that would shape everything that followed. She completed her undergraduate studies at NYU before earning her veterinary degree from The Ohio State University, where she was honored as a Morris Animal Foundation Scholar. After graduation, Dr. Stokes-Greene completed a highly competitive internship at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center in California. In 2009, she joined Steele & Associates Equine Practice, where she became a partner in 2014.

For over 17 years, Dr. Stokes-Greene has focused on sports medicine and regenerative biology, working to understand not just how equine athletes get injured, but how the body's own capacity to heal can be amplified. Her practice centers on orthobiologics including PRP, Prostride, and stem cell therapies, alongside emerging AI tools and biotech protocols to optimize tissue repair, restore mobility, and extend the performance careers of competing jumper and dressage horses.

As a dedicated mentor, Dr. Stokes-Greene leads a team of veterinarians within the practice and is known for translating complex protocols into care plans that clients understand and trust. Her passion extends beyond clinical work: she is also an active lecturer and entrepreneur, with a deep interest in the intersection of AI technology, business, and creativity in veterinary medicine. Outside the barn, she can be found hiking, skiing, or indulging her love of fashion and design. Follow her work on Instagram @drlaurasg
