Diplomate of the Equine Branches of the American and European Veterinary Dental Colleges, Swiss (SVPM/ASME) and German (IGFP) Certificates in Equine Dentistry

Hubert graduated from the University of Vienna in Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Following a two year period in a private equine clinic near Vienna, he completed his doctoral thesis in 1996 and returned to the University as an assistant at the Clinic for Surgery where he specialised in Equine Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 2013 Hubert became a specialist of the newly formed equine branches of the American and European Dental Colleges. Since 2015 Hubert is associate professor for Equine Surgery in Vienna. In 2020, Hubert set up his own clinic Tierklinik Gaaden.

Hubert has published several studies and clinical articles in peer-reviewed veterinary journals and lectures regularly at national and international courses and conferences on equine dentistry.

Neil qualified from Bristol University in 2004 and after a brief period in mixed practice embarked on an equine only career starting with an Equine internship at Liverpool University and surgical residency at the University of Edinburgh. He re-joined Liverpool University in 2010 as a surgery clinician, setting up an advanced dentistry service including standing CT. During this time, he gained European Diplomas in both Equine Surgery and Veterinary Dentistry (Equine). He is a Trustee of BEVA and became a Fellow of the RCVS in 2023.

He joined private practice in 2015 where he provided both an in-house and peripatetic advanced dentistry and surgery service. He set up his own peripatetic advanced dentistry and surgery consultancy service in May 2023. He is interested in all aspects of equine surgery and advanced dentistry and lectures nationally and internationally on these subjects.

Richard graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2004, following which he spent 6 months in mixed practice before undertaking an 18 month equine internship at Donnington Grove Veterinary Practice in Newbury. He then undertook a residency in equine surgery as well as a Master’s degree and then a PhD at Glasgow University.

Richard obtained his RCVS certificate in orthopaedic surgery in 2009, his ECVS diploma in Large animal surgery in 2010, a Master’s degree in Equine surgery in 2011, his PhD investigating risk factors for injury to Thoroughbred horses during racing in 2013 and his EVDC diploma in equine dentistry in 2018.

Richard enjoys all aspects of equine surgery and has research interests in both surgery and dentistry.
