Dr. Brett Woodie attended North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and earned his veterinary degree in 1995. Following graduation from veterinary college he was an intern at The Ohio State University from 1995-1996. Dr. Woodie then entered a surgery residency at The Ohio State University and spent another three years in Columbus, Ohio. During his surgery residency he completed a Master’s of Science degree. He then moved to northern Virginia where he was a clinical instructor for a year in equine surgery at Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center. He achieved Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2000. His next job was as an Assistant Professor of Large Animal Surgery at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. During this time his research focus was on equine upper airway disorders. Then in 2003 he had the opportunity to move to Lexington, Kentucky and begin his job with Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital. He has been a surgeon at Rood and Riddle since that time. Diagnosis and treatment of equine upper airway problems is one of his main interests. Dr. Woodie has lectured nationally and internationally on the diagnosis and treatment of equine upper airway problems. He is co-organizer of the Equine Upper Airway Symposium. This symposium is held annually in Lexington, KY

Dylan studied veterinary science at Bristol University, in the UK. Following an internship in equine surgery at the Royal Veterinary College in London, he moved to Manchester where he investigated the role of growth factors in abdominal adhesion formation. After completing his PhD in 2003, he undertook a three-year surgical residency at Liverpool University, before moving to Sweden with his wife and three children.

Dylan works as a surgeon at Mälaren Hästklinik, one of busiest hospitals in Skandinavia. He is a recognised European specialist in equine surgery, having obtained the Diploma in 2008 (Dipl. ECVS). He has lectured internationally in equine wound management.

Since December 2020, he has been working as chief surgeon at the equine clinic at Uppsala University.

Clinical Interests: Equine Endoscopic Surgery including Laparoscopy, Arthroscopy and Flexible Endoscopy, Wound healing, Lameness. Research Interests: Laparoscopic Surgical Approaches, Wound Healing, Pain Relief, Teaching Methods

Yvonne Elce graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1997. She then proceeded to a large animal internship at Washington State University and a large animal surgery residency at New Bolton Centre, University of Pennsylvania.

She worked in the USA after becoming a board certified surgeon for 10 years and more recently at the University of Montreal Vet school. She currently is the Lead of the Equine Hospital and full time equine surgeon at Langford Vets Equine Hospital in the south of England.
