CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube to name but a few, some of which you wouldn’t even recognise…  As the age range decreases in the veterinary sector, the number of platforms to which we are signed up increases. Rarely do people not have at least a Facebook and Instagram account nowadays… Social media is now firmly part of our daily lives...

Brand reputation and employer brand are at the top of most companies' minds today, especially as consumerism and competition rise notwithstanding the forever decreasing veterinary manpower available.

What are the motivations behind the use of digital marketing in equine practice and how do we manage to endorse this as busy practitioners ? Are there any best practices, rules or risks we should be taking into account?  Should digital marketing be taught at vet school or should we all be employing community managers?

Liz has a degree in Journalism which led to a natural progression to social media, marketing and PR, as the industry changed and social media started to influence the landscape.

In 2011 Liz became a Director at Loch Leven Equine Practice, helping to grow the practice from a two-vet ambulatory practice into a seven-vet referral clinic with operating facilities.

In 2016 Liz took a step back from management in the practice to concentrate on her own business in marketing consultancy, working with equestrian businesses of all sizes and from different sectors of the industry.

Liz has a history steeped in horses and alongside the consultancy business has her own horses, which she competes, and is a qualified equestrian coach – something which she finds adds additional value and expertise to her other professional services.

Tasha has a degree in Communication Studies (Marketing) and over a decade of Marketing experience in the equine and veterinary industry.

She worked at Liphook Equine Hospital for over 14 years as a nurse, receptionist and Marketing & Events Manager. Tasha joined the VetPartners Marketing team in 2019 as the Equine Marketing Manager, with responsibility for heading up equine veterinary marketing.

Having been involved in the equine industry and owned horses for most of her life, Tasha brings a wide range of expertise and knowledge to the team. Tasha has lectured at veterinary congresses and equine veterinary CPD’s.

Sophie Wilford is a Belgian vet who graduated in 2007. She has had a very broad range of experience having practised as a vet in England in private veterinary clinics and at the Royal Veterinary College in London. She spent time working with a mixed customer base, before specialising in equine internal medicine until 2014. She became an internal medicine specialist (DipECEIM) after passing her exams in 2017.  Sophie is now the Director of Marketing & Communications at Qovetia.
