PANEL DISCUSSION DESCRIPTION

Twinning remains a common issue to deal with in equine reproductive practice. Nature provides the circumstances for twin, triplet and rarely quadruplet pregnancy and sometimes when multiple pregnancies are presented, dealing with them and successfully reducing them to a healthy singleton can be a challenging task. There is no perfect formula to deal with twins in all cases and so twin pregnancy remains an important topic for discussion amongst equine practitioners.

In this panel, world renown equine reproductive experts from the USA, Europe and Australia will discuss their approaches to managing twin pregnancy from early first detection through to mid-gestation; they will aim to discuss the evidence to help both beginners and experienced colleagues to deal with the next case they are presented with. The basics are just as important as cutting-edge techniques and this group of highly experienced clinicians will discuss them all based on decades of personal experience. There will be ample opportunity for attending veterinarians to ask questions and share their own experiences.
