PANEL DISCUSSION DESCRIPTION

Join us for an in-depth exchange about how donkeys differ in their clinical presentation, management, and treatment of a variety of general and medical conditions that all can lead to a presentation of dullness when observed in a donkey patient.

An international panel of world-renown donkey specialists with a medical bias will debate the following topics amongst many others:

  • General differences between horses and donkeys
  • Causes of the 'dull donkey' (GI, respiratory, liver disease, hyperlipemia etc.)
  • Tools to aid in assessing pain in donkeys (when and how to pain score and what system to use)
  • Emerging diseases of importance

The above topics and many more will be debated by the diverse panel through the contribution of long-standing personal experience and the provision of evidence-based information where available. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and are very welcome to contribute to the lively discussion.

David qualified from Cambridge Vet School in 1995. He worked in general practice in Yorkshire for 2 years prior to undertaking a 2-year residency and then a PhD at the University of Glasgow.
