Power doppler is three times more sensitive than conventional colour Doppler and is particularly useful for detecting areas of ischaemia and hyperaemia in areas of inflammation. In this webinar sports medicine specialist Ana Boado reports on her experience with power doppler ultrasonography over the past 7 years and how she uses it clinically as a diagnostic tool and for decision-making in regard to rehabilitation of horses. Injuries to the following structures will be comprehensively covered through images and videos: suspensory ligament origin and branches, flexor tendons and check ligaments, digital flexor tendon sheath, collateral ligaments etc. Dr. Boado will also address the use of power doppler to monitor the healing process of ligaments and tendons and to assess subclinical lesions identified during lameness or pre-purchase examinations in regards to clinical relevance.
