CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Equine glaucoma is under-diagnosed and when recognized it is very difficult to treat.  The proper diagnosis and treatment of this blinding disease is important for all practitioners, whether general practice veterinarians or specialists.   An international panel consisting of renowned equine ophthalmologists will discuss early clinical features and diagnosis of equine glaucoma, both which are very important for successful management of the disease.  The differentiation of primary vs. secondary glaucoma will be discussed, including the development of glaucoma following chronic uveitis and heterochromic iridocyclitis.

A thorough discussion will then commence on the practical treatment of glaucoma, including management of underlying causes for glaucoma and how to control intraocular pressure elevation in the horse.  Case reviews and Q&A between panelists and attendees will ensure a lively discussion for all.

* Participants are encouraged to send in questions to info@vetpd.com prior to the panel discussion. There will also be the opportunity to raise questions during the discussion.
