Alex graduated from the Universidad Nacional of Costa Rica in 1985 and went on to perform an Anesthesia Internship at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Canada, followed by an Anesthesia Residency with a DVSc at the same institution from 1987 to 1990.  He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia in 1990. Following his residency, he returned to Costa Rica to work at the University for 1-year and then established his own private mixed practice Hospital for 9 years, before returning to North America, where he worked as a faculty member at the University of Florida for 5 years, to later returned to the Ontario Veterinary College where he has been since 2005 and is currently Professor of Anesthesia. His areas of research include the effects of intravenous anesthetic drugs and of local regional techniques on the potency of inhalant anesthetics, as well as their cardiorespiratory effects in small and large animals, and their effects on anesthetic recovery in horses. Alex has published numerous research, review, and clinical articles in peer-reviewed veterinary journals on these topics and is co-editor of the two editions of the Manual of Equine Anesthesia and Analgesia. Alex lectures regularly at national and international courses/conferences on anesthesia of all species.

Andrew qualified from Liverpool University in 1988 and joined the practice in 1993. His particular interests are veterinary anaesthesia, internal medicine and echo-cardiography. He has been awarded the RCVS Certificates in both Equine Practice and Veterinary Anaesthesia.

Andrew is the senior veterinary surgeon at Worcester Racecourse and is also a registered examiner with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) in Equine Veterinary Nursing and for the veterinary Certificate In Equine Practice. He is a former President of BEVA, a role which saw him deeply involved in championing the health and welfare of horses throughout the world.

Outside the practice, Andrew enjoys road cycling and rowing.

Dr. Sathya Chinnadurai is a native of St. Louis and completed his DVM, internship and a Master’s in Wildlife Biology at the University of Missouri. He then moved to North Carolina State University for residencies in zoological medicine and anesthesia, leading to board certification in the American Colleges of Zoological Medicine, Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia, and, recently, Animal Welfare. His interests include clinical teaching, anesthesia and analgesia of all species.

Dr. Chinnadurai served as a Clinical Instructor in Zoological Medicine at the University of California at Davis and a Staff Veterinarian at the Sacramento Zoo and senior staff veterinarian at the Chicago Zoological Society's Brookfield Zoo. He is currently the Director of Animal Health at the Saint Louis Zoo which serves to finance his expensive passions for amateur woodworking and raising two amazing daughters
