CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Diseases of the equine kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra are commonly observed in equine practice and often provide both a diagnostic and treatment challenge.
An international group of experienced equine clinicians with expertise in diseases of the urinary system will serve on this panel to discuss the most up-to-date information on equine urinary tract disorders, focusing on information that is directly applicable to clinical practice. The topics for discussion amongst the panel will include:

  • Causes, management and prevention of acute renal failure
  • Management of chronic renal failure
  • Causes and treatment of stranguria & dysuria
  • Clinical and laboratory evaluation of a horse with polyuria
  • A brief discussion on clinical disorders that cause discolored urine in horses and foals.

Key clinical information on each topic will be presented by a panel member followed by additional clinical points provided by other panel members. Questions and contributions from attendees are encouraged during the panel discussion or questions can be submitted beforehand to help ensure the topic will be addressed.
