Dr. Campbell received a bachelor of science degree in animal sciences and DVM from the University of Missouri. She worked for Asheville Veterinary Associates in North Carolina before pursuing a rotating internship in small animal surgery and medicine at Auburn University. She went on to complete a residency in small animal internal medicine and a master of science in clinical pathology at the University of Georgia. She undertook an additional residency in dermatology at the University of Illinois. Campbell is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Small Animal) and the American College of Veterinary Dermatology.
Before joining the VHC – Wentzville, Campbell served as a faculty member at the University of Illinois for more than 32 years. During that time, she taught dermatology and endocrinology to more than 3,000 veterinary students and more than 30 graduate students, including 15 dermatology residents, all of whom successfully achieved board certification. Her research interests include endocrinology, immunology and the effects of nutrition and topical products on skin barrier function. She has served on advisory panels for pet nutrition and pharmaceutical companies. She has authored numerous scientific publications and has authored, co-authored or edited nine books including “Veterinary Clinics of North America: Small Animal Practice’s Dermatology,” “Veterinary Clinics of North America: Small Animal Practice’s Updates in Veterinary Dermatology,” “Small Animal Dermatology Secrets, The Pet Lover’s Guide to Cat & Dog Skin Diseases,” and most recently, “Small Animal Dermatology 7th Edition.”

Campbell is an active member of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology and the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology. She received the 2013 Award of Excellence from the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in recognition of outstanding teaching and service in veterinary dermatology. She was selected as the 2014 Alumna of the Year from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine.

Campbell and her husband, Lawrence Motsinger, have two grown children (one is a 2015 graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine). They share their home with four cats and one dog and also have two horses. They enjoy spending time outdoors, being with family and traveling.

Dr. McKay received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 2003. She went on to complete an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Berwyn and VCA Aurora and then completed a three-year residency in Dermatology at VCA Aurora in 2007. She became board certified in dermatology that same year. Dr. McKay has served on several committees of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (including the Credentials Committee) and is currently on the Organizing Committee for the North American Veterinary Dermatology Forum. She is actively involved in continuing education speaking locally and nationally.

She also enjoys clinical research and has participated in numerous dermatology trials studying novel therapies for canine atopic dermatitis and pruritus. Dr. McKay has also published many articles on various aspects of dermatology. Dr. McKay offers total management of allergies including skin testing, serum testing, and allergen-specific immunotherapy, as well as diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune disease, alopecias, and chronic or recurrent pyoderma, otitis and pododermatitis. Dr. McKay and her dermatology technicians place a high value on client communication and dedication to excellence in dermatology and look forward to helping dogs and cats with their dermatology needs.

Lluís Ferrer obtained his DVM degree at the University of Zaragoza – Spain (1981) and a MSc in Animal Pathology and a PhD at the Veterinary School of Hannover (Germany) in 1985. Since 1985 he has been lecturing Pathology and Dermatology at the Veterinary School of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB, Spain). In 1994 he was Board-Certified Dermatologist by the European College of Veterinary Dermatology. Between 2012 and 2017 he was Professor of Dermatology at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, in Boston, Massachusetts (USA) and in 2018 he came back to the UAB. Among other topics, his investigations have been focused on canine leishmaniasis, demodicosis, atopic dermatitis and on the genetic background of the skin diseases.

Michela De Lucia graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pisa (Italy) in 1997. She earned a postgraduate specialty degree in Small Animal Pathology and Clinic in 2001. She worked in the field of small animal dermatology, as practitioner, from 2001 to 2007. Later she completed a dermatology residency program under the supervision of Dr. Alessandra Fondati and she obtained the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD) diploma passing the exam in 2011.

From then on, she has been working as chief director of the dermatology service at the San Marco Veterinary Clinic and Laboratory, Veggiano (Italy), where she is involved in the clinic, diagnostic and research areas. She is completely devoted to providing state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients suffering from skin and ear diseases. She is the author of publications in the field of companion animal dermatology in peer-reviewed national and international journals and she is a speaker at national and international courses and meetings.
