PANEL DISCUSSION DESCRIPTION

Sedation plays a pivotal role in veterinary medicine, ensuring the safety and comfort of both patients and personnel. Sedation is often necessary to complete procedures, as a preparation for general anesthesia, to facilitate examinations and to ensure the patient has a positive experience visiting the clinic. Selecting the appropriate sedation technique requires careful consideration of numerous factors such as patient disease status, behaviour, client interactions, clinic setting, the specific procedure, and a host of other variables which may have a influence on drug type, dose, and route selection.

This engaging panel discussion involving world-leading specialists will delve into a myriad of sedation approaches, considering diverse patient populations, various disease states, and clinical scenarios. We will discuss drugs options as well as new drugs and strategies and review the pros and cons of the previously accepted techniques. Any practitioner involved in sedation or general anesthesia will benefit from joining us as we will offer invaluable insights, practical strategies, and the latest advancements in sedation techniques for dogs and cats. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and contributions from attendees in this lively debate.
