Christoph is a 2001 graduate of the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Bern, Switzerland. After veterinary school, he worked as a large animal practitioner in rural Switzerland, mainly serving dairy farmers and horse owners. In 2003, Christoph returned to the Vetsuisse Faculty of Bern, for an internship at the equine hospital, and to work on his Dr. med. vet. Thesis. Further pursuing a specialization in equine surgery, he then completed a surgical internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, KY, followed by an ACVS residency at the University of Madison, WI. He then returned to Switzerland to rejoin the Vetsuisse Faculty as a clinical instructor and now head of the division of equine surgery.

Christoph is a board-certified Diplomate of the American and European College of Veterinarian Surgeons. His clinical work engages all aspects of equine surgery, including soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, as well as equine dentistry. As an equine clinician, his main interests are in minimally invasive surgery, particularly in computer-assisted orthopaedic surgery, surgical oncology, and surgery of the respiratory and urogenital tract. His research focuses on equine sarcoid disease and computer-assisted surgery in horses.
