Justine qualified from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh, in 2007 and initially worked in mixed practice. In 2009 she moved to The Liphook Equine Hospital as a housevet before joining the ambulatory team at the hospitals branch practice on the Isle of Wight. In 2011 Justine returned to Edinburgh to begin an ECVS residency in equine surgery, working towards a European diploma and Masters. Since completing residency training last year, she has remained at the university in a locum position as lecturer in equine surgery and plans to take the European surgery diploma exams next February. Justine has particular interest in sino-nasal surgery and advanced wound reconstruction techniques. She has published in peer reviewed veterinary journals and presented her work at several international conferences. Her current research involves investigation of a novel surgical vocalcordectomy technique, evaluations of sinus and facial bone anatomy, and investigations of surgical approaches to the navicular bursa.
